If Affilify can't delete a message, it won't pretend to. Without "Manage Messages," it leaves the raw link exactly where it is and posts a plain reminder to use /amazon next time — it never claims to have cleaned up something it didn't.

The invite link also carries two permissions Discord bundles in for full functionality — Read Message History and Send Messages in Threads. Affilify doesn't request anything beyond what's listed here.

Set your own tag with /configure

Requires Server Owner or the Administrator permission — regular members can't change it. Run /configure, pick a marketplace (or "Global Settings" to set every region at once), and fill in your tracking tag and footer in the popup that opens.

Your message contained only a raw, untagged Amazon link. Affilify removes it and asks you to resend it with /amazon so it carries the server's affiliate tag. If your message had other text alongside the link, nothing gets deleted — Affilify just adds a button with the clean link instead.
Yes. /amazon works in direct messages and group chats once you install Affilify as a personal app via the "Add for DMs & Group Chats" button above. /configure and /stats stay server-only, since they manage server-wide settings.
Affilify leaves the raw link exactly where it is and posts a plain reminder to use /amazon next time. It never claims to have removed something it couldn't. Grant "Manage Messages" if you want raw links cleaned up automatically — see Permissions for why it's requested.
Run /configure, pick a region (or "Global Settings"), and fill in the "Custom Footer" field in the popup. Use {{sender}} anywhere in your text and Affilify replaces it with a mention of whoever shared the link. Leave the field blank to keep the current footer unchanged. Heads up: a custom footer replaces Affilify's default note entirely, including its affiliate disclosure — Amazon requires a clear disclosure next to any affiliate link, so keep one in your own text. The server owner or anyone with the Administrator permission. Everyone else gets a message asking them to reach out to an admin — regular members can't change tags or footers.
No — realistically, don't count on it. Amazon's commission rates are small, and you'd need a huge volume of purchased links to see real money. Affilify isn't really about the payout: it's a safety net that makes sure only genuine, verified amazon.* links get reposted in your server (never a spoofed or malicious redirect), it keeps your channels readable by stripping the ugly tracking junk out of every link, and yes — it can earn your server a few cents on the side while it's at it.
Nothing breaks — Affilify falls back to a default tag so links still get cleaned from day one. If that default tag ever earns a commission, it goes to the developer as a tip that funds hosting and continued development, not into the server owner's pocket. If Affilify ever earns a genuinely large amount this way, the developer intends to donate a share of it rather than keep it all.
Per server: your affiliate tags per region, your footer text, and a running count of links generated per region with a timestamp. Nothing else. Affilify never stores message content or a persistent user ID — the {{sender}} mention is generated fresh for each reply and never written to the database. Full detail in the Privacy Policy.
No — Affilify is closed-source, so self-hosting isn't an option. Keeping the anti-abuse and link-verification logic private makes it harder for anyone to find and exploit gaps in it. Everything the bot actually asks of your server is still fully documented above — see Permissions.
